Nia with Selina
As part of our Community Class series at Knit. Stitch. Sew we would like to welcome Selina of Nia in Kingston!
Combining dance, martial arts and mindfulness, Nia tones your body while transforming your mind. More than just a workout, Nia is a holistic fitness practice addressing each aspect of your life - body, mind and soul. Each class includes mindful movement guidance and somatic education - beginning with gentle warming movements, moving through to high-intensity cardio choreographies, and winding down to stretching, cooling down, and mindful movements to usher your body back into its daily routine.
The cardio-choreographies of the Nia technique are founded on 52 simple moves inspired by dance arts, martial arts, and healing arts. Nia classes are non-impact, practiced barefoot, and adaptable to individual needs and abilities.
